OnMed, a Florida-based company, launches a chain of telemedicine stations in the USA.
Anyone may use the individual telemedicine kiosk and get a consultation with a highly qualified physician. The station can measure temperature, weight and some other patient’s health indicators.
But the most interesting thing is that a patient may receive medication immediately in case a doctor prescribes it during a telehealth visit since each OnMed unit includes a locked dispensary, which contains a number of the most commonly prescribed medications such as antibiotics and antihistamines.
Visits can be completed in just 8 to 12 minutes; between the visits the stations are sanitized with UV light.
The company has achieved agreements with a number of clinics as for the consultation provision by their physicians and with the airports, universities, trade chains as for the placement of their stations.
A number of insurance companies, including state MediCare, accepted to cover the patients’ cost.
